Document and resource links highlighted on this page will help Registered Apprenticeship program employers/sponsors develop, register and manage their program.  The USDOL Apprenticeable Occupations List outlines nearly 1,000 occupations in which Registered Apprenticeship programs can be developed.  With assistance from a Program Consultant, the program sponsor may develop program standards for any skilled occupation that will meet their needs.  A new apprenticeable occupation may also be developed to meet the needs of the sponsor. New apprenticeable occupations must be widely recognized and supported by the industry and require a minimum of one year of training.

Registered Apprenticeship has few required documents:

1. The Standards of Apprenticeship provides an outline of the program standards developed for each of the sponsor's apprenticeable occupations. The completed Standards of Apprenticeship is submitted to the Kansas Apprenticeship Council for program approval and registration. 
2. The Apprenticeship Agreement is completed by each apprentice following program approval and as apprentices are added to the sponsor's workforce.
3. The Monthly Work Schedule documents each apprentice’s progress throughout the program. 
4. The Transmittal of Action exits each apprentice who completes, leaves or drops from the sponsor's program.
5. An Affirmative Action Plan Guide is used by sponsors who have 5 or more apprentices in their program at one time. (Those with less than 5 apprentices are not required to submit an Affirmative Action Plan.)   

The Self Assessment and Program Improvement Plan helps seasoned sponsors evaluate, improve and update an existing program in order to maintain a high quality program. The O*NET ONLINE system serves as the nation's primary source of occupational information, providing comprehensive information on key attributes and characteristics of workers and occupations.
